How We Started
TwinFlame Ventures was born from a single, transformational encounter at a coffee shop in 2017. Donnell and Alicia Layne met unexpectedly, experienced connection so profound they researched to understand it and found the concept of “twin flames” — two souls recognizing each other at the deepest level. This experience became the company's name, its founding philosophy, and the animating energy behind everything TFV has built since.

At the time of their meeting, Donnell was navigating a profound personal transition — what he calls his "second life." He had recently left Chicago following a divorce and was intentionally rebuilding. During this period, he deepened his commitment to Information Technology and experiential learning, while simultaneously discovering transformational spiritual practices including the Isha Foundation's Isha Kriya meditation and the Sambhari Maharudra Kriya — practices he describes as aligning his energies, clearing his mind, and advancing his spiritual development to the next level.
Alicia Layne
At the threshold of a new chapter, Alicia met Donnell—a connection that would profoundly shape the path ahead. In the wake of a deeply personal separation, she made her way back to California with her two young children, guided by a desire to begin again. Though uncertain, the journey felt like a quiet return, as her past life as a yoga instructor resurfaced and became an anchor that steadied her through chaos. Between her shifts as a Starbucks supervisor, she created a nonprofit youth yoga program in South Los Angeles, an offering that became a life-changing awakening for both her and those she served. In giving to others, she reignited her own light, rebuilding her life with purpose, connection, and a renewed sense of possibility.
